End of Summer Craft: marbles

16 Jul

These simple decorations add color and whimsy to your library! To create a paper marble, each child traces a large circle on a sheet of white construction paper and cuts it out. Next, lay the circle on a covered work surface and squeezes individual dollops of red, blue, and yellow paint in its middle. Then slide the circle inside a cereal box, along with four marbles. The child shakes the box, rolling the marbles back and forth, until the desired amount of paint is smeared. While the paint dries, invite each child to share her marble and a favorite memory from her summer vacation. Post the marbles on a display titled “We Had a ‘Marble-ous’ Summer.”
